BEIJING, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- The commercial banks in China had realized a net profit of about 1.512 trillion yuan as the end of the third quarter of the year, up 5.91 percent year on year, representing 1.49 percentage points lower than the growth in the same period of last year, according to the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC) on Monday.
As of the end of the third quarter, the average profit margin of the domestic commercial banks was 1.00 percent, down 0.03 percentage points from the end of the previous quarter. The rate of their return on capital was 13.15 percent on average, down 0.55 percentage points from the end of the previous quarter, said the CBIRC. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
