BEIJING, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- East China's Wenzhou city aims to build two to three blockchain industrial bases by 2022, part of its efforts to promote development of the digital economy.
According to a digital economy plan released by the local authority, in the blockchain industry, Wenzhou will promote application of the blockchain in fields of finance, product anti-counterfeiting traceability, credit system construction, smart city, intelligent manufacturing, etc.
To promote development of the digital economy from 2018 to 2022, Wenzhou will make efforts to cultivate and foster the emerging industries such as communication satellites, Internet of Things, integrated circuits, industrial Internet, big data, and blockchain.
According to the plan, by 2022, Wenzhou aims to see total value added of the digital economy reach more than 380 billion yuan with an average annual growth rate of more than 15 percent, accounting for about 50 percent of its GDP.
Main business income of the core digital economy industry manufacturing enterprises with main business revenue above 20 million yuan annually will total 99.6 billion yuan, an average annual growth of more than 15 percent. The main business income of the city's software and information services business will be 6.8 billion yuan, an average annual growth of more than 18 percent, by 2022, said the plan.
