TASHKENT, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- China has become the largest trade partner of Uzbekistan again and its biggest export market, latest statistics showed.
In the first ten months of this year, Uzbekistan saw its foreign trade with China increase 28.8 percent year on year to reach 5 billion U.S. dollars.
The Sino-Uzbekistan bilateral trade value during the period accounted for nearly 20 percent of the total foreign trade of Uzbekistan, data showed.
The rapid growth of Sino-Uzbekistan trade was mainly thanks to the substantial growth of China's imports of natural gas and agricultural products, as well as its exports of machinery equipment to Uzbekistan, said Jin Yulong, economic and commercial counselor of the Chinese embassy in Uzbekistan.
Statistics showed that China has accumulatively invested more than 7.8 billion U.S. dollars in Uzbekistan, so far. The number of the Chinese-funded enterprises in Uzbekistan has been over 900. (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
