BEIJING, Nov. 16(Xinhua) -- The 5905-5925 MHz Band will serve as the working frequency range for direct communication of the Internet of Vehicles (Intelligent Connected Vehicles) based on LTE-based C-V2X technology, according to the regulations released by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on Tuesday.
Radio frequency is a key resource for intelligent connected vehicles. The above planned frequency range is consistent with the international mainstream, and the 20MHz bandwidth frequency can meet the long-term requirement of direct communication of ICV.
The regulations also encourage special economic zones and pilot regions to issue frequency licenses to develop intelligent transportation.
In the concept of C-V2X, C stands for 4G or 5G network, V for vehicles, and X for "everything" such as people, cars and transportation facilities.
At present, domestic C-V2X chip providers include Qualcomm, Huawei and Datang, among which Datang and Qualcomm have successively conducted chip-level and landing interoperability tests. (Edited by Wu Shuang, wushuang2018@xinhua.org)
