BEIJING, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- Trade volume between China and Russia surged 25.7 percent year on year to 67.5 billion U.S. dollars in the first eight months of 2018, and is expected to reach 100 billion U.S. dollars for the whole year, according to Li Hui, Chinese Ambassador to Russia.
China and Russia have achieved remarkable cooperation results through expanding trade scope and optimizing trade structure, with China being Russia's largest trading partner for eight consecutive years, according to Li Hui.
Energy cooperation is an essential part of the two countries' strategic cooperation, under which Russia has become China's largest crude oil supplier, according to Li.
Li also introduced tourism cooperation between the two countries. Russia welcomed 667,000 Chinese tourists in the first half of 2018, up 21 percent year on year, Li noted. (Edited by Jiang Feifan, Niu Huizhe)
