BEIJING, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd has signed a contract with Istanbul government to export 500 million U.S. dollars worth of light rail trains to the Turkish city, yidaiyilu.gov.cn reported on Tuesday.
It is Istanbul's first order to buy the Chinese high-end rail transit equipment, marking another achievement of the cooperation between China and Turkey under the Belt and Road Initiative.
The light rail train has designed width of 2.65 meters and interior height of 2.1 meters. Maximum operating speed is designed to be 80 km per hour, and it can carry more than 1,500 people.
The light rail train will run on Istanbul's airport line. (Edited by Jiang Feifan, Niu Huizhe)
