BEIJING, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- China's aluminum producer Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (CHALCO, 601600. SH; 02600. HK; ACH. NYSE) held a ground breaking ceremony for its bauxite project in Boffa, capital of Guinea's Boffa Prefecture, on October 28 (local time in Guinea).
It is CHALCO's first large-scale aluminum project overseas.
The available resource reserves in the mining area of the project is around 1.75 billion tonnes, and the company plans first phase construction with an annual output capacity of 12 million tonnes.
The project is a major cooperation between China and Guinea, which will bring mutual benefits and win-win results. When completed, it will become an important source of overseas bauxite resources for CHALCO. (Edited by Gu Shanshan)
