BEIJING, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- The "Belt & Road" African Studies Alliance was established in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, on October 27.
The alliance was set up during the Inaugural Conference of "Belt & Road" African Studies Alliance and the First Session of Academic Seminar held in Guangdong University of Foreign Studies.
34 institutions, including Peking University, Tsinghua University and foreign research institutes, joined the alliance.
"The alliance will help Guangzhou become an international metropolis and boost the cooperation between China and Africa," said Liu Jisen, executive dean of the African research institute of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, adding that they will build information sharing platform and achievement publishing platform to facilitate international cooperation projects.
