BEIJING, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Corp., Ltd. (JAC) was selected into Xinhua News Agency's National Brands Project in Beijing on Thursday.
Liu Zhengrong, Vice President and Secretary General of Xinhua News Agency, and An Jin, JAC chairman, attended the signing ceremony.
Founded in 1964, JAC has developed into a comprehensive automaker with full-line independent brand vehicles in China with strong core competitiveness and influence.
Over the years, the company has been dedicating to quality control as well as product research and development (R&D) through which JAC obtained 11,678 patents as of the first half of 2018, the first among its auto peers in China that owns patents of more than 10,000.
The company is committed to developing into a leading Chinese automaker with international competitiveness, and has been expanding its footprint along the Belt and Road (B&R) route under the B&R Initiative. JAC exported 65,000 vehicles in 2017, up 15 percent year on year, of which 38,000 vehicles were exported to 30 plus countries and regions along the B&R route. The company exported 66,000 vehicles in the first three quarters this year, up 31.6 percent year on year.
At the ceremony, the two sides announced that they will carry out all-round strategic cooperation in terms of brand story, overseas communication, brand promotion, big events, etc. to jointly enhance influence of JAC both at home and abroad.
National brands are both important carriers for a country’s hard power and manifestation of soft power, said An Jin, noting that being selected as member of Xinhua’s National Brands Project marks a milestone in JAC’s brand building.
JAC is expected to expand its brand influence domestically and globally through Xinhua’s dissemination channels, interactive platform as well as high-quality content, according to An.
The 54-year old JAC has come to a strategic point for brand upgrades, and “always being up” should act as the guiding light for JAC’s innovative development in the new era, said Zhang Yongping, General Manager of marketing management office of Xinhua News Agency.
Xinhua would facilitate JAC’s brand upgrading through all-media dissemination and systematic service support, Zhang noted. (Edited by Niu Huizhe, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
