BEIJING, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- A total of 16 contracts with total investment of over 490 million U.S. dollars has been signed in Xuzhou City, east China’s Jiangsu Province at the recent China-Pakistan Business Cooperation Conference.
The 16 projects cover five fields including intelligent manufacturing, energy conservation and environmental protection, and modern service industry.
As an important link city of the Belt and Road Initiative, Xuzhou has seen increasing economic and trade exchanges with Pakistan in recent years, with trade volume and growth expanding.
The trade volume between Xuzhou and Pakistan totaled 330 million yuan in 2017, and reached 281 million yuan in the first three quarters of 2018.
Nearly 300 guests and merchants attended the conference, including officials, experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from the Belt and Road countries and regions such as Pakistan, South Korea, Iran, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Bangladesh. (Edited by Wu Shuang, wushuang2018@xinhua.org)
