BEIJING, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- China has recently unveiled a three-year action plan to improve product quality of the raw materials industries, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on Thursday.
The country aims to significantly enhance quality of the raw material products, enable some middle and high-end products to enter the global supply chain system, and optimize supply structure of the raw materials industries by 2020.
According to the action plan, the country has set goals for the quality enhancement in industries such as steel, non-ferrous metals, petrochemical, and building materials.
The country aims to make breakthroughs in R&D and industrialization of high-end steel products for marine engineering and high-tech ships, advanced rail transit, aerospace and other fields, with breakthroughs in three to four key steel products annually.
It aims to enhance proportion of green building materials used in new buildings to 40 percent and that of the new fertilizers to about 30 percent by 2020. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
