BEIJING, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- The International Logistics Visibility Task Force, which is designed to be a platform on information exchange, standard formulation, and cooperative extension for international logistics, was officially launched.
The Task Force was initiated by the Alibaba Group, its logistics arm Cainiao Network Technology Co., Ltd, the National Public Information Platform for Transportation & logistics (LOGINK), and International Port Community Systems Association (IPCSA), in an effort to promote the construction of global intelligent supply chain, and ultimately achieve the goal of 72-hour delivery of global parcels.
Standards have become ‘the universal language of the world', and logistics technical standards are an important way of information sharing among logistics partners, said Gu Xuemei, CTO with Cainiao Network.
Dai Jianfeng, director of LOGINK said that the establishment of Logistics Visualization Task Force is a model for LOGINK to strengthen cooperation with large enterprises and organizations, and also an important collaboration for promoting international logistics information sharing and cooperation.
LOGINK is a public, open, shared logistics information network sponsored by the Ministry of Transport and the National Development and Reform Commission. It is a government-led transport infrastructure featuring logistics information service.
IPCSA is the successor to the European Port Community Systems Association (ECPSA) which was launched in June 2011 by six founding members, all European-based Port Community System operators. IPCSA and its members play a vital role in global trade facilitation. (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
