BEIJING, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- A total of 1,203 freight trains ran between China and Europe via China's Manzhouli, the largest land port on the China-Russia border, in the first three quarters of 2018, up 26.76 percent year on year, according to Manzhouli Customs.
The trains carried 98,488 standard containers of goods, up 15.59 percent on year, with goods value expanding 16.92 percent on year to 5.626 billion U.S. dollars.
Of the total, 654 trips were outbound, registering a year-on-year increase of 9.6 percent. They carried 55,766 standard containers of goods, down 2.5 percent on year. The goods value grew 7.32 percent on year to reach 3.796 billion U.S. dollars.
549 trips were inbound, marking a year-on-year increase of 56.1 percent. They carried 42,722 standard containers of goods, up 52.2 percent on year. The goods value amounted to 1.829 billion U.S. dollars, up 43.42 percent on year. (Edited by Gu Shanshan, Zhang Yuan, zhangyuan11@xinhua.org)
