BEIJING, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- China and Panama held the third round of the negotiations on the free trade agreement (FTA) in Panama City, capital of Panama, from October 9 to 13, according to China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) on Wednesday.
After the round of negotiations, the two sides reached an agreement on nearly half of the contents of the FTA, such as sanitary and phytosanitary measures, technical barriers to trade, e-commerce and intellectual property rights, and made positive progress in the areas of market access for goods trade and service trade, and the rules of origin, said the MOC.
The two sides also agreed to hold the fourth round of negotiations on the China-Panama FTA in November this year, said the ministry. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
