BEIJING, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- The Global Biodiversity and Health Big Data Alliance, relying on Beijing Institute of Genomics (BIG) of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASS), was established in Beijing on October 14, reported the Shanghai Securities News.
The alliance, whose members mainly come from countries along the Belt and Road (B&R) routes, was founded under the framework of the Open Biodiversity and Health Big Data Initiative (BHBD) advocated by the International Union of Biological Sciences (IUBS), reported the People's Daily on Wednesday.
It is aimed at providing a platform for biodiversity and health big data integration, application and sharing, and building a world-class biodiversity and health big data center covering multiple data and knowledge bases.
The alliance will help China to improve its ability in biological big data integration, analysis and utilization, as well as application of biodiversity and health big data, so as to increase the overall level of the health industry. (Edited by Gu Shanshan, Zhang Yuan, zhangyuan11@xinhua.org)
