BEIRUT, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon Wang Kejian offered on Tuesday 100 English and Arabic books to Lebanese National Library of Baakline, Lebanese National News Agency reported.
"The books cover the cultural, social and artistic aspects of life in China," said Wang, adding that they will make Lebanese readers know more about China.
Abdallah Ghosaini, director-general of the library, praised this initiative by saying that it helps in strengthening cultural ties between the Lebanese and Chinese people.
This is not the first cultural initiative that China has launched in Lebanon.
One of its latest moves is a conservatory which will be implemented soon at a value of 31.9 million U.S. dollars, covering 25,000 square meters in the northern Beirut suburb of Dbayeh.
