BEIJING, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- The operating income of China's property management companies hit 600.72 billion yuan (86.8 billion U.S. dollars) in 2017, accounting for 1.4 percent of the value-added of China's service industry, according to a report released by China Property Management Institute (CPMI) on Monday.
The number of property management companies in China reached 118,000 in 2017, according to the report released at the Second International Property Management Industry Expo. The number of property management companies in Guangdong, Jiangsu and Shandong were among the top three in China, with a total of more than 7,000 companies.
The report also showed that the total property area under the industry's management in China was about 24.67 billion square meters in 2017, and the number of employees in the industry was about 9.05 million.
The Second International Property Management Industry Expo was opened on Monday in Shenzhen and will last for three days. More than 120 exhibitors from China and abroad participated in the expo this year, showcasing new products and technologies which make the property management "smart", such as face recognition, unattended parking system, etc. (Edited by Li Wenxin, Yang Qi, liwenxin@xinhua.org)
