BEIJING, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) --The sci-tech and industrialization development center under the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of China (MOHURD), Qingdao Municipal Commission of Urban-Rural Development and Shibei District government on Thursday inked a cooperative agreement on co-building a “green construction and technological town” in Qingdao.
The move is also aimed to promote the structural upgrading of the city's construction industry and gathering of innovative resources.
The green and technological town will be constructed on the basis of Shibei District, which covers an area of the 65.4 square kilometers, with 11-square-kilometer Qingdao central business district as a demonstration zone, a source with the Shibei district government said, adding that green construction technology and new materials would be utilized.
