BEIJING, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Sales volume of Chinese cars in Ecuador increased by 103 percent in the first eight months of 2018, an Ecudor newspaper quoted the chamber of commerce of Ecuadorian automobile industry as saying.
In 2000, sales of new cars made in China accounted for only 1 percent of the world's total car sales, and the ratio rose to 30 percent in 2017, with 28.9 million new cars sold, equal to the new car sales of the U.S. and Europe.
According to an analysis, Chinese car brands have a growing influence on global market in the development of new energy vehicle, including electric vehicle and hybrid electric vehicle.
Popular Chinese auto brands in Ecuador include BYD, Chery Automobile, Geely Auto, Foton Motor, BAIC Motor, Zotye Auto, Changan Automobile, Yutong Bus and Wuzhoulong Motors, with their competitive designing, performance, equipment and price compared to other brands in the local market, the report said.
