BEIJING, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) --Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region's foreign trade in goods with countries along the Belt and Road routes rose 6.0 percent year on year to reach 9.13 billion yuan in August, Manzhouli customs data showed on Monday.
In a breakdown, imports were 4.18 billion yuan and exports were 4.95 billion yuan. Trade with the Belt and Road markets totaled 86.64 billion yuan from January to August, accounting for 83.1 percent of the region's total trade.
General trade with the Belt and Road countries reached 5.31 billion yuan in August, or 58.2 percent of the total, an increase of 14.2 percent.
Private companies' trade with the Belt and Road countries grew 4.2 percent year on year to 6.94 billion yuan in August, accounting for 76.1 percent of the total.
Russia is Inner Mongolia's biggest trading partner. The foreign trade with Russia reached 5.22 billion yuan in August, or 57.1 percent of the total.
In terms of commodity types, Inner Mongolia mainly imports natural resources, and exports high technology products as well as mechanical and electrical products. (Edited by Wu Shuang, Ding Lei; wushuang2018@xinhua.org)
