BEIJING, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- China’s 19 national-level new areas are to roll out new development plans, according to Economic Information Daily.
So far, the state council has approved a total of 19 national-level new areas such as Shanghai Pudong New Area and Hebei Xiongan New Area, most of which have come up with plans to build themselves into a national-level or even world class industry cluster.
Tianjin Binhai New District, for example, plans to actively develop agglomeration economy, open economy, and intelligent economy.
It is noted that 18 national-level new areas (excluding Xiongan New Area) have achieved total GDP of approximately 4 trillion yuan in 2017, accounting for five percent of national GDP.
Particularly, 11 national-level new areas saw their GDP exceeded 100 billion yuan scale. (Edited by Jiang Feifan, Niu Huizhe)
