BEIJING, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- The China express delivery index released by China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) rebounded in September, reflecting China's business activity maintained robust.
The index rose to 101.3 percent last month, up 0.2 percentage points from August, according to data from CFLP.
The sub-index for delivery activity in the manufacturing industry was 102.9 percent, down 2.9 percentage points from August, whereas that for the service industry rebounded to 104.4 percent, up 3.7 percentage points from August.
In a breakdown, 18 out of 21 major categories of manufacturing had a sub-index higher than 100 percent. Among them, the index for equipment manufacturing and consumer goods were weaker than August, while that of the heavy chemical industry activity rebounded significantly.
In terms of the delivery activity in services, 13 out of 14 major service industries had a sub-index higher than 100 percent.
In addition, the sub-index for employment in express delivery sector increased 5.2 percentage points to 98.8 percent from August, according to the CFLP. (Edited by Li Wenxin, Yang Qi, liwenxin@xinhua.org)
