BEIJING, Sept.30 (Xinhua) – Alashankou Port in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygui Autonomous Regions has shortened the time of customs clearance from 12 hours to four hours, improving the traffic efficiency of China-Euro freight trains.
Alashankou Port implemented the integration of customs clearance and inspection for applicants on August 1, which simplified the customs clearance process for enterprises and freight trains via the port, said Peng Qiang, an official of Alashankou Customs.
Technology innovation has contributed a lot to Alashankou Port’s development in the past five years. For example, the port has been using intelligent system to manage information of containerized cargo, and the Customs also set up an information sharing platform for the China-Euro freight trains to achieve real-time data sharing among relevant inspection institutions.
