BEIJING, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- Northwest China's Shaanxi Province's outbound direct investment (ODI) in Belt and Road countries had amounted to 1.15 billion U.S. dollars as of the end of August this year, accounting for 23.9 percent of the province's total overseas investment, according to data released by the local authority on Wednesday.
The data shows that from 2013 to 2017, the province's ODI increased from 290 million U.S. dollars to 660 million U.S. dollars, and the turnover of foreign contracted projects increased from 1.787 billion U.S. dollars to 3.91 billion U.S. dollars.
In the past five years, the province's trade volume has augmented from 122.775 billion yuan (17.82 billion U.S. dollars approximately) to 271.49 billion yuan (39.40 billion U.S. dollars approximately), rising from the 23rd to the 18th in China, according to the data.
Up to now, the province has established 19 overseas business representative offices, nine of which are located in B&R countries, according to the provincial authority. (Edited by Li Wenxin, liwenxin@xinhua.org)
