BEIJING, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- The Maritime Silk Road Trade Index (STI) released by Ningbo Shipping Exchange showed a slight month-on-month rise in August.
Under the STI, the Import and Export Trade Index closed at 149.10 points, up 2.63 percent from the previous month and also up 17.36 percent year on year.
To be specific, the Export Trade Index closed at 149.49 points, up 1.59 percent month on month and 10.70 percent year on year. The Import Trade Index closed at 148.65 points, up 3.90 percent month on month and also up 26.36 percent year on year.
In particular, China's crude oil import trade volume in August increased rapidly, pushing the liquid cargo import trade index up 57.46 percent year on year, according to the Ningbo Shipping Exchange. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
