BEIJING, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh will offer preferential tariffs to members of the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement (APTA) including China, Laos, ROK, India, and Sri Lanka, the country's National Board of Revenue announced recently.
Bangladesh will giver 10-70 percent discount to tariffs on 602 items imported from the five countries mentioned above. The list of goods include semi-finished products, basic raw materials, large machinery, industrial parts and etc., but excluding ordinary consumer goods
In the 2017-2018 fiscal year, imports of Bangladesh amounted to 51.5 billion U.S. dollars, of which imports from China were 16 billion U.S. dollars and imports from India were 9 billion U.S. dollars. (Edited by Wu Shuang, Yang Qi, wushuang2018@xinhua.org)
