BEIJING, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- The telecommunication business income in Southwest China's Guizhou Province reached 21.24 billion yuan by the end of August this year, up 11.8 percent year on year, ranking the first in China for 19 consecutive months, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Tuesday.
The sound performance of Guizhou in telecommunication business is mainly attributed to the drive of mobile voice service and added-value service in telecommunications.
To be specific, in the first eight months of the year, income of the mobile voice service amounted to 4.37 billion yuan, up 30.3 percent year on year and that of the added-value service stood at 1.89 billion yuan, up 33.3 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, the total volume of telecom services in Guizhou Province surged 170.1 percent on year to 124.18 billion yuan in the January-August, ranking the 11th place nationwide for eight consecutive months.
The rise was attributed to the reduction of fees driven by Guizhou's big data strategy. During the period, the mobile data traffic skyrocketed 207.9 percent year on year. (Edited by Wu Shuang, wushuang2018@xinhua.org)
