BEIJING, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Southwest China's Sichuan Province will join hands with Italy to establish an energy environmental market information exchange platform in a bid to promote development of circular economy and sustainable development, according to the Xinhua-run Economic Information Daily on Wednesday.
At the 17th Western China International Fair recently held in Chengdu, capital city of Sichuan Province, the Italian Energy Environment Global Exchange, Sichuan United Environment Exchange, and Sichuan Association of Circular Economy jointly signed a memorandum of cooperation.
According to the memorandum, they will conduct exchanges and cooperation in the fields of environmental protection, energy, recycling and green economy, smart and flexible cities through the energy environment market information exchange platform.
Sichuan is promising in improving the efficiency of resource output utilization and reducing the proportion of polluting industries. Italy, as a country with rich experience in related industries, can provide reference for Sichuan in the circular economy, said Zhao Lechen, chief engineer of the Environmental Protection Department of Sichuan Province.
