BEIJING, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Statistics from the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan showed that there had been 574 Chinese-funded enterprises operating in Kyrgyzstan by the end of 2017, including 177 joint ventures and 397 wholly-owned Chinese enterprises.
The number of Chinese-funded enterprises operating in Kyrgyzstan ranked the second among all foreign-owned enterprises in Kyrgyzstan, second only to Russia.
By the end of 2017, the total number of foreign-funded enterprises operating in Kyrgyzstan had stood at 3,107, including 1,328 joint ventures and 1,779 wholly-owned enterprises. 80 percent of the foreign companies are located at Kyrgyzstan’s capital Bishkek. The number of employees in these foreign-funded enterprises had reached 62,500, accounting for 31.3 percent of the total employment of Kyrgyzstan.
