BEIJING, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) – China remained the largest trading partner of New Zealand with bilateral trade up 14.29 percent in the fiscal year during July 2017 and June 2018, according to the website of Ministry of Commerce (MOC) citing data released by Stats NZ, New Zealand’s statistics department.
Trade between the two countries grossed 27.75 billion New Zealand dollars in the fiscal year 2017-18, including 11.71 billion New Zealand dollars of imports from China and 16.04 billion New Zealand dollars of exports to China.
For goods trade, New Zealand imported 10.98 billion New Zealand dollars of commodities from China and exported 12.67 billion New Zealand dollars of goods to China. Its service imports from China were 731 million New Zealand dollars and service exports to China stood at 3.37 billion New Zealand dollars.
China, together with Australia and the European Union were the top three trade partners of New Zealand and their trade with the country altogether accounted for 50 percent of New Zealand’s total foreign trade for the period. (Edited by Duan Jing, duanjing@xinhua.org)
