BEIJING, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina) and Norwegian company NBT recently signed the EPC contract for the 250 MW roadbed wind power project in Ukraine.
With a contract value of 292 million euros, the project will become the largest roadbed wind farm in Europe upon completion.
The wind power project was invested by NBT. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development led the financing. PowerChina and its Fujian branch formed a joint venter as an EPC contractor.
The project is located on the shore of Lake Sivash in the Kherson region of southern Ukraine with planned installation of 64 sets of Nordex 3.9 MW wind turbines, applicable to EU standards. It will officially started construction on October 10, 2018 and will be completed on December 31, 2019.
With the implementation of the project, many new employment opportunities will be created for Ukraine, and the completion of this power project is expected to feed more than one-third of the electricity demand in the Kherson area.
