BEIJING, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- China will further advance the construction and cooperation of space information facilities while expand sharing B&R space information corridor achievements with ASEAN countries, according to Wu Yanhua, deputy head of China National Space Administration.
China so far has more than 200 in-orbit satellites, and is working on integrating the application of the technologies of big data, cloud computing, and the IoT in space information, Wu said on China-ASEAN “B&R” Space Information Corridor Cooperation Development Forum held during the China-ASEAN Expo.
Specifically, in the field of telecommunication, China has launched Laosat 1 telecom satellite and jointly established a joint venture with Laos to provide satellite television broadcasting and satellite communication services to the Mekong region, said Wu.
In the field of remote sensing, the China-developed high score IV satellite, a new generation of optical remote sensing satellite has provided disaster prevention and mitigation services to ASEAN countries. (Edited by Jiang Feifan, Niu Huizhe)
