BEIJING, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- Stressing the concept of low-carbon, identifying personal responsibility, environmental responsibility and market responsibility, and integrating the green values into the Belt and Road construction will become the future development trend of the textile industry, said Sun Ruizhe, president of the China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC), on the eve of the First World Textile Merchandising Conference (2018 WTMC).
In recent years, Keqiao District of Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province has been focusing on the development goal of becoming “green, high-end and world-leading”, deepening the transformation of the textile printing industry, cultivating model enterprises and promoting intelligent development of the industry.
In the respect of green product research and development, local companies kept increasing their investment in innovation.
Shaoxing Fulaiya Textile Co., Ltd spends 20 percent of its profits in new product development each year, and is dedicated to bringing more functional and comfortable textiles, such as the heating fabric made of imported acrylic fiber and green healthy fabric made of Tencel and cotton, said Yu Xingxiang, general manager of the company.
In terms of investment guide, Keqiao District has resolutely closed the door to the projects identified in the negative list of environmental protection, regardless of the investment and output, and shut down the enterprises that fail to meet environmental protection requirements.
Meanwhile, Keqiao has encouraged enterprises to select low-energy, low-emission and high-end equipment through policy incentives.
Chen Jun, an official from administrative committee of Keqiao Economic and Technological Development Area said that, since the transformation of the textile printing and dyeing industry was launched, the original 212 enterprises have been integrated into 108 with increased production capacity and improved quality.
2018 The First World Textile Merchandising Conference (2018 WTMC), themed in "Opening-up, Science & Technology, Fashion, Green Growth", will be held at the Keqiao District, Shaoxing City of east China's Zhejiang Province in September 20-21, 2018.
Under the guidance of CNTAC, China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textile and Apparel (CCCT) and China General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC), the conference will be co-hosted by Shaoxing Municipal Government, Productivity Promotion Division of CNTAC, Working Committee for Foreign Liaison of CGCC, apparel branch and fabric branch of CCCT, and People's Government of Keqiao District of Shaoxing city.
