China's service trade hits historic high in Jan.-July -- The Ministry of Commerce (MOC) said on September 5 the country's service trade rose 9.9 percent year on year to stand at 2.98 trillion yuan (nearly 436 billion U.S. dollars) in the first seven months. Service exports increased 14.6 percent to 987.5 billion yuan, while imports gained 7.7 percent to 1.99 trillion yuan, resulting in a deficit of over 1 trillion yuan.
China's service trade deficit grows in July-- China continued to see a deficit in foreign service trade in July and the volume has expanded, data from the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) showed. Income from trade in services stood at 19 billion U.S. dollars last month, while expenditures were 44.3 billion dollars, resulting in a deficit of 25.3 billion dollars. The deficit enlarged from the 22.1 billion dollars seen in June.
Macao broad money supply M2 reaches 76.4 bln USD in July-- Macao's broad money supply rebounded in July with a stable share of patacas, as broad monetary supply M2 grew 8.5 percent year-on-year to 616.4 billion patacas (about 76.4 billion U.S. dollars), the special administrative region's monetary watchdog said here on September 5. According to statistics released on September 5 by the Monetary Authority of Macao, currency in circulation dropped 0.7 percent month-to-month whereas demand deposits rose 2.2 percent. M1 thus increased 1.6 percent from one month earlier.
China's rail freight volume grows at faster pace-- China's railway freight volume, an indicator of the broad economic activity, expanded at a faster pace in the first seven months of this year.Railways carried a total of 2.29 billion tonnes of cargo during the January-July period, up 7.9 percent from one year earlier, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics.
China's online property insurance premiums up in H1-- China's online property insurance premiums rose significantly in the first half of 2018, picking up pace from the January-March period, official data showed. Premium income from online property insurance sales increased 37.29 percent year on year to 32.64 billion yuan (4.79 billion U.S. dollars) in H1, according to the Insurance Association of China. The growth rate was 30.9 percent in the first quarter.
