BEIJING, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- China-Europe freight trains setting off from southwest China’s Chengdu have made more than 2,300 trips, which has strongly promoted trade exchanges along the Belt and Road routes.
The China-Europe freight trains refer to the container trains supporting freight flow between China and Europe, and the countries along the Belt and Road routes.
The China-Europe freight trains network has helped companies in China and neighboring countries to improve their trade in countries along the railway lines, such as Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
China-Europe freight trains starting from Chengdu are upgrading services for the economic and trade exchanges. In the past two years, Chengdu has built a railway transportation network that knits together markets along the Belt and Road routes, said Zheng Shuangli, operation director of Chengdu International Railway Port Investment and Development Co., Ltd.
Meanwhile, an increasing number of multinational companies are benefitting from the express service. Last year, Dell (Chengdu) Company achieved transporation of 1,200 containers by China-Europe freight trains. The company's output value increased 48 percent on year to 37.2 billion yuan in 2017 thanks to railway transport and capacity transfer by China-Europe freight trains.(Edited by Wu Shuang, Hu Pingchao, wushuang2018@xinhua.org)
