BEIJING, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- Southwest China's Guizhou Province will speed up the construction of recharging infrastructure to protect environment, the Xinhua-run cnstock.com reported on Thursday.

The local authorities will coordinate efforts to promote construction of the recharging infrastructure in areas such as the residential area, the public service area, the industrial parks, the tourist scenic spots, and the highways to facilitate the use of the electric vehicles.

China has remained the world's largest new energy vehicle (NEV) market for three consecutive years, with some 777,000 cars sold in 2017.

In the first seven months of 2018, China's NEV production rose 85 percent year on year to 504,000 units, while sales jumped 97.1 percent to 496,000 units, data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturing showed. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
