BEIJING, Aug. 29(Xinhua) – The foreign trade of North China’s Inner Mongolia with the countries along the Belt and Road routes reached 39.2 billion yuan in the first seven months of this year, an increase of 6.4 percent over the same period last year, accounting for 67.8 percent of the regional total, the Hohhot Customs District said on Tuesday.
According to customs statistics, the region’s exports value amounted to 12.78 billion yuan, up 12.4 percent, accounting for 59.6 percent of the total export volume in the same period; while its imports were 26.42 billion yuan, up 3.7 percent, making up 72.6 percent of the total import.
Inner Mongolian’s foreign trade with the Belt and Road countries saw the growth due to increasing trade scale and deepening of the opening-up of the region. Erenhot customs will continue to simplify procedures to facilitate foreign trade. (Editedby Wu Shuang, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
