This conference will include an opening ceremony, a theme conference, roundtable sessions, parallel forums and site visits.
The theme conference will witness the establishment of the WTMC Council. The four parallel forums respectively themed as “Opening-up, Science & Technology, Fashion, Green Growth”, will see participants share their ideas on the development trends and cutting-edge technologies of the textile industry in the future, highlight the development momentum of the global textile fashion industry, explore the transformation of China’s textile industry and search for the new forms for the sustainable development of the industry.
"Holding the World Textile Merchandising Conference at Keqiao will definitely broaden the market and bring about more opportunities," said Chen Dapeng, vice president of China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC). Keqiao, as the largest hub for textile enterprises and the most authoritative center releasing textile indexes in China as well as the world's largest pivot for textile trade, boasts advantages in trade volume and prestige. Relying on the global cooperation network built at the conference, Keqiao will exist as an industrial symbol, making China’s textile industry more globally visible and bringing more development opportunities.
The conference will release "Keqiao on Silk Road, Textile for the World" action plan, which features east and west routes. The west route is geared towards high-end markets of Europe and America in an attempt to set up Shaoxing Keqiao Fabric Museums in New York, Milan, Paris and other international fashion centers and world-famous fabric exhibitions. The east route will reach out to countries and regions along the Belt and Road and hold fabric exhibits, business matchmaking conferences and set up exhibition centers.
