BEIJING, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- The trade volume between China and Africa totaled 116.17 billion U.S. dollars this year from January to July, up 18.7 percent year on year, exceeding the overall growth rate of China's foreign trade in the same period by 2.3 percentage points, according to the statistics released by China's General Administration of Customs.
In a breakdown, Chinese exports to Africa reached 59.36 billion U.S. dollars, up 8.8 percent year on year, and its imports from Africa were 56.81 billion U.S. dollars, up 31.3 percent.
China's trade surplus with Africa in this period was 2.56 billion U.S. dollars, down 77.4 percent year on year. (Edited by Li Wenxin; hupingchao@xinhua.org)
