BEIJING, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- In recent five years, the Chinese power enterprises have signed 494 engineering contracts with countries along the Belt and Road routes, with the total value at 91.2 billion yuan U.S. dollars.
Chinese leading electricity grid enterprises have actually completed more than 50 projects each with an investment of more than 30 million U.S. dollars in the Belt and Road countries in recent five years, with a total investment of 8 billion U.S. dollars, making positive contributions to enhancing local power supply and economic and social development, said Yang Kun, executive vice president with China Electricity Council.
In the first half of the year, the business revenue of China Huadian Corporation witnessed the year-on-year growth of 660 million yuan (about 96 million U.S. dollars). At present, the company has carried out the energy cooperation with countries along the routes, including Indonesia, Russia, Cambodia, and Vietnam.
China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd has had more than 300 projects under construction or to be built along the routes, with the total value exceeding 200 billion yuan (about 29 billion U.S. dollars), according to Wang Jianping, chairman with the company. (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
