BEIJING, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Cainiao Network Technology Co., Ltd., the logistics arm of Chinese e-tailing giant Alibaba Group, signed a strategic partnership with Singapore Airlines to step up its international air cargo services on Tuesday.
The link-up was part of the agreement package between Alibaba and Singapore Airlines that covers a wide range of areas including ticket sales, loyalty programs, marketing initiatives and cloud services.
Through cooperation with Singapore Airlines, Cainiao intends to improve its global smart logistics network that delivers globally within 72 hours, said Zhao Jian, general manager of Cainiao International.
Cainiao in early June announced that it would establish six logistics hubs in Hangzhou, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai, Liège and Moscow. Currently, the company provides services in 224 countries and regions around the world through its global logistics network by alliances with around 40 major airlines.
