BEIJING, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- China's retail giant Suning.com (002024.SZ) has completed its "8.18 Shopping Festival", one of the most remarkable shopping sprees in China, and released its sales achievements on Sunday, the Xinhua-run cs.com.cn reported.
The company saw its total orders from all channels increase 155 percent year on year during the shopping spree and the number of active users surge 97 percent from a year earlier.
According to the company, there were about 6,753 brick-and-mortar stores participating in the promotion activity on August 18. To be specific, the daily peak sales through Suning plazas increased 111 percent year on year, with 560,000 participants.
In the first half of 2018, the company's operating revenue rose 32.39 percent and its commodity sales volume amounted to 151.319 billion yuan (including taxes), up 44.63 percent year on year.
