BEIJING, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- CNMC Nickel (Myanmar) Co. has invested a total of 57 million U.S. dollars to protect the local environment in Myanmar, according to a social responsibility report released by the company on August 18.
According to the report, these funds are mainly used for industrial fumes recycling, sewage treatment disposal, the smelting treatment system of water quenching slag in a bid to effectively protect the ecological environment around the mining area in Myanmar.
Up to now, the company’s tax revenues and product sales attributable to Myanmar amounted to over 100 million U.S. dollars.(Edited by Yang Yifan, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
