Chinese firm Holitech to invest USD200 mln in India for components producing for Xiaomi -- Mobile-phone manufacturing company Xiaomi announced on August 6 the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with its key components making firm "Holitech Technology," to start manufacturing key components in the country's southern state of Andhra Pradesh. The MoU was signed in the state's Vijaywada district in the presence of state chief minister Chandrababu Naidu.
Chinese market boosts Mercedes-Benz sales to reach new record-- Strong demand from Chinese market boosts the sales of German carmaker Mercedes-Benz to reach a new record in the first seven months of 2018, a statement of the Stuttgart-based company showed on August 6. China Vanke reports surging sales in July -- Real estate developer China Vanke reported rising sales in July, according to a company statement filed to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange on August 6. The company posted a 26.9-percent year-on-year increase of property sales on contracts, which reached 45.14 billion yuan (about 6.6 billion U.S. dollars) in July.Sales in terms of area stood at 3.07 million square meters last month, the statement said.
VIPKid has big plans for global growth -- VIPKid, China's largest online education startup, announced on August 7 that it will expand its business to 10 cities globally, expanding overseas right after a fresh round of financing in late June. The company plans to set up branches and expand both its English and Chinese business in 10 cities abroad including Seoul, Tokyo, London, Singapore, Madrid and Buenos Aires in the next three years.
