BEIJING, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) – Dongguan, major city in South China's Guangdong province saw its foreign trade with the countries along the Belt and Road routes totaling at 114.34 billion yuan in the first half year, up 16.7 percent year on year, 13 percentage points higher than the growth rate of Dongguan’s total foreign trade, according to the local customs.
It is worth mentioning that Dongguan’s exports to Russia witnessed sharp growth of 1.1 times to 4.53 billion yuan in the first six months compared with that in the same period of last year, thanks to the brand sponsorship and supporting production for FIFA World Cup.
In the first half of this year, Dongguan's imports and exports with the seven largest foreign trade partners in the world, including United States, Hong Kong area, EU, ASEAN, South Korean, Taiwan area, and Japan amounted to 449.72 billion yuan, accounting for nearly 80 percent of its total foreign trade.
