BEIJING, Aug.3 (Xinhua) -- China Eastern Airlines had signed a MOU for joint operation of air routes with Japan Airlines on Thursday.
This is not the first cooperation between the two companies. The upgrade from code sharing to joint operation of air routes not only conforms to the current strategic choices of the aviation industry, but also indicates that China Eastern Airlines and Japan Airlines are working hard to form a more effective and close cooperation model, said Ma Xulun, general manager with China Eastern Airlines.
At the signing ceremony, China Eastern Airlines and Japan Airlines have established a new strategic partnership, and launched joint cooperation on the main lines between China and Japan and their domestic routes to jointly enhance the market competitiveness of the Sino-Japanese routes and jointly bring passengers better air travel services.
