ANKARA, July 30 (Xinhua) -- A forum on investment and financial cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative has recently been held in Ankara, Turkey. Representatives of more than 150 Chinese and Turkish enterprises attended it.
Yu Hongyang, Chinese Ambassador to Turkey, said at the forum that China and Turky have achieved many tangible achievements in the process of promoting the construction of the Belt and Road. Turkey's Middle Corridor initiative is highly compatible with China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative. There is great potential for the future cooperation between two countries.
Turkey has an important geographical location and a good economic foundation, and is committed to becoming a regional economic and energy power. Turkey will provide investors with a good business environment, according to Fatih Donmez, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey.
Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) attaches great importance to the Turkish market and is willing to deepen its dialogue with the Turkish community to strengthen strategic cooperation, said Yi Huiman, chairman of the ICBC.
ICBC's Turkish subsidiary signed cooperation agreements in a total amount of about 3.8 billion U.S. dollars with Turkey at this forum.
The forum was jointly organized by the ICBC, the Chinese Embassy in Turkey, and the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, which aims to build a platform for communication between entrepreneurs and investors in China and Turkey. (Edited by Bao Nuomin, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
