The payment service provider Wirecard continues to see rapid growth. Turnover and profits once again increased sharply in the second quarter. Revenues climbed 40 percent compared to the previous year to 476.9 million Euro, announced the TecDaAX heavyweight Wednesday in Aschheim near Munich.
Earnings before interest, taxes and depreciation (EBITDA) likewise increased 40 percent to 133.2 million Euro and thus slightly exceeded analysts' expectations.
Wirecard is licensed to carry out banking activity and earns money by processing electronic and digital payment transactions for corporate customers around the world.
The company cooperates with partners like Visa and Google, among others. The DAX candidate grew as a result of acquisitions in North America and Asia - and thanks to the continuing online shopping boom.
Analysts expect that Wirecard will outperform its target operating result of 545 million Euro this year.
