BEIJING, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Chinese leading on-demand mobility platform DiDi Chuxing announced on Thursday to set up joint venture (JV), DiDi Mobility Japan Corp. with Tokyo-based SoftBank to provide taxi-hailing service and smart transport solutions in Japan.
The service is expected to start a trial run in Osaka this autumn and then expands to Kyoto, Fukuoka, Okinawa and Tokyo, according to the announcement.
DiDi Mobility Japan would bring in DiDi’s advanced data platform to improve operational efficiency and user satisfaction, as well as expand user base for local taxi companies in Japan. (Edited by Niu Huizhe, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
