China's fixed-asset investment up 6 pct in H1-- China's fixed-asset investment (FAI) grew 6 percent year on year in the first half of this year, official data showed on July 16.Total FAI stood at about 29.73 trillion yuan (4.44 trillion U.S. dollars), according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).The growth is 1.5 percentage points lower than that of the first three months of this year.

China's GDP grows 6.8 pct in H1-- China's gross domestic product expanded 6.8 percent year on year in the first half of 2018 to about 41.90 trillion yuan (6.27 trillion U.S. dollars), data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed on July 16.The pace was well above the government's annual growth target of around 6.5 percent, extending a steady expansion.

China's resident income up 6.6 pct in H1-- China's average per capita disposable income grew 6.6 percent year on year in real terms to 14,063 yuan (about 2,107 U.S. dollars) in the first half of 2018, official data showed on July 16. The growth was calculated after taking into consideration the effects of inflation, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). The nominal growth in resident income was 8.7 percent in the first six months.

China's property investment sees slower growth in H1-- China's property investment posted slower growth in the first half of this year, partly due to strengthened regulation on real estate markets, the statistics authority said on July 16. Investment in property development increased 9.7 percent year on year in the first six months, slightly slower than the 10.2-percent expansion recorded in the January-May period, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said in a statement.

China's industrial output expands 6.7 pct in H1-- China's value-added industrial output, an important economic indicator, expanded 6.7 percent year on year in the first half of 2018, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on July 16. The growth rate was 0.2 percentage points lower than that recorded in the first five months.

China sees steady employment in June -- China's job market remained stable in June, with the unemployment rate at a relatively low level, official data showed on July 16. In June, the surveyed unemployment rate in urban areas was 4.8 percent, unchanged from the level in May and down 0.1 percentage point from June last year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).The urban surveyed unemployment rate in 31 major cities was 4.7 percent, unchanged from May, and down 0.2 percentage points year on year.

China's retail sales growth accelerates in June -- China's retail sales of consumer goods grew 9 percent year on year in June, official data showed on July 16. The growth accelerated from the 8.5-percent rise seen in May, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). In the first half of the year, retail sales expanded 9.4 percent year on year to reach 18 trillion yuan (about 2.7 trillion U.S. dollars), compared with a 9.8-percent growth in the first quarter.

China's fiscal revenue expands 10.6 pct in H1 -- China's fiscal revenue climbed 10.6 percent year on year to 10.43 trillion yuan (1.56 trillion U.S. dollars) in the first half this year, according to the Ministry of Finance. The growth retreated from the 12.2-percent gain registered for Jan.-May, according to the ministry. During the first half of the year, the central government collected 4.99 trillion yuan in fiscal revenue, up 13.7 percent year on year, while local governments saw fiscal revenue expand 8 percent to 5.44 trillion yuan.

China's household consumption expected to rise steadily in H2 -- China's household consumption is expected to rise steadily in the second half of the year, international investment bank UBS said on July 17. The rising domestic consumption is expected to be supported by the steady rise of disposable income per capita in China, which expanded 6.6 percent year-on-year in January to June, according to a UBS report. China's consumption showed ample resilience despite trade friction in the first half of 2018, with final consumption contributing to 78.5 percent of GDP growth, up from 58.8 percent last year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

China's 2018 summer grain output slightly down -- China's summer grain output stood at 138.72 million tonnes this year, down 2.2 percent from last year, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on July 18. "The country's summer crops have yielded a relatively good harvest in 2018," NBS statistician Huang Jiacai said. The total area for growing summer crops declined 0.6 percent to 26.7 million hectares this year, while the average output from each hectare of crops dropped 1.6 percent.
